On June 30, 1955, President Eisenhower signs Executive Order 10450, which prohibits homosexuals from working in the federal government. Homosexuality is classified as a sociopathic personality disorder by the American Psychiatric Association. This organization is the oldest and first gay-related organization in the United States. It is a society that aims to eliminate discrimination, derision, prejudice, and bigotry. However, there is still much work to be done in terms of achieving full equality for LGBT people. The movement has made significant progress in recent years, with the legalization of same-sex marriage in many countries and the election of LGBT people to political office. These riots are credited with sparking the gay rights movement, which fought for the rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people (LGBT). The Stonewall Inn was a gay bar in New York City’s Greenwich Village that was the site of a series of riots by the city’s gay community against police harassment. The Stonewall Riots of 1969 are widely considered to be the beginning of the modern gay rights movement.
